Traveler Zoran Stevanović
The President of the Parliament, Zoran Stevanović, literally stated on his Facebook profile: “… Certain members of Svoboda are behaving in such a wayward way…” After the reaction of the affected members of the parliament that she should publicly apologize for these accusations, he stated that he does not intend to apologize because they are not offensive. Such a reaction from Stevanović can be understood as “stubbornness”, which is otherwise a typical term for customs in Serbia.
Then he publicly explained that “traveler” is a masculine noun that describes the behavior of vagrants, so according to him it refers to male travelers, but women cannot be called by a masculine noun. However, since he explicitly stated in his slur that it was about MPs, i.e. women, it means something else, namely that only female MPs can behave like a road worker. In SSKJ, however, this is a designation for prostitutes. In this case, it is even a worse insult than the recent labeling of female journalists as prostitutes. We all know what the epilogue was.
When Stevanović allowed himself to explain Slovene grammar and orthography, even the academic Slovene studies profession refused to do so. Even according to their interpretation, a road worker applies only to men, and a road worker applies to women. The wayward behavior of female MPs undoubtedly means that only wayfarers, i.e. prostitutes, can behave waywardly. Stevanović, a learned Slovene scholar, cannot teach an academic profession, as he is not at all qualified for this, even though he has Slovenian citizenship.
Just because Stevanović grossly tricked his voters by withdrawing a notarized declaration of non-cooperation with Janša and received a reward for this in the form of the position of Speaker of the National Assembly, this does not mean that he can insult his colleagues in the parliament with prostitutes. No normal person can trust Stevanović any more, because he is a dishonorable person, which is not far from a wayfarer. If the President of the National Assembly reacts to this record with arguments, I am also ready to apologize to him, because this is a cultural custom in Slovenia.
