With the start of the new season, the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research emerges as the leader of this comprehensive national movement… To bring the picture closer, “Al-Thawra Net” He conducted a dialogue with Mr. Hadi Ammar, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for the Education Sector, who revealed in this dialogue the fundamental starting points of the Ministry, the implications of the leadership directives, and how this year’s centers turned into a major workshop in which all sectors of the state integrated to build “Yemeni youth” armed with knowledge and faith.
Educational responsibility
We begin our dialogue with you by talking about roots; What are the basic principles and starting points from which the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research proceeds in organizing summer centers this year?
The Ministry of Education and Scientific Research starts organizing summer schools from several basic principles, the first of which is that it is the main pillar of the Supreme Committee for Summer Activities and Courses. The majority of the staff working in summer schools are educators, and the students enrolled are our children in the schools, and the places where summer activities and courses are carried out are all our educational institutions spread throughout the country, with the exception of a small number in mosques. Therefore, recruiting teachers to hold summer schools requires the intervention of the Ministry and extending it to the governorates, directorates, and schools. Likewise, recruiting students requires diligent work, urging, and follow-up on the part of the Ministry, and opening schools also requires intervention from The Ministry.. The prominent role of the Ministry and its staff, present in every village, isolated neighborhood, and neighborhood, is the guarantor of the success of this project.
The second starting point is “duty.” We see in teaching young people the Holy Qur’an, improving their skills in reading, writing and good morals, instilling noble values and principles, strengthening the identity of faith, providing them with knowledge and skills in various fields, and working to build their capabilities; All of this is at the heart of the ministry’s mission and responsibility. We consider that summer schools and working in them are a fulfillment of our responsibility and our duty. For us, it represents an extension of the educational process and a tributary to it, and it is considered our mission that we strive to achieve with great seriousness and interest.
Implications of leadership care…a message of guidance and construction
Mr. Leader Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi (may God protect him) pointed out in his lecture on the latest developments and developments the importance of these centers.. In your opinion, what message does the leader’s signal carry?
The Commander, may God protect him, take care of him, and guard him with great care, gives great and great attention to summer activities and courses every year because of their great impact on the upbringing and upbringing of the rising generation, Quranic education, and good and sound upbringing. His personal interest and annual inauguration of these centers reflects a fatherly and leadership concern for the survival of this nation. This year, he emphasized in his speech the interest in them and the rush to them because of that great importance. May God’s peace and protection be upon him, and out of his concern. Al-Shadeed is like a guiding scholar and a Qur’anic leader for this nation. He seeks to recommend this nation, raise it, teach it, and guide it with the Holy Qur’an. The message here is clear: with his bright words throughout the year on occasions and during our support of Gaza on a weekly basis, through his valuable and blessed lectures throughout the blessed month of Ramadan, which focused on building up adults, it is now the turn of the “rising generation.”
Mr. Leader seeks not to leave this generation an easy prey to neglect, but rather wants them to gain pride and dignity through knowledge and work. His directives are a “road map” for official and societal bodies to push children towards these educational kindergartens so that they are equipped with the awareness that protects them in this world and the hereafter.
A shield against “soft war”
How do these centers contribute to fortifying young people and building their faith identity, especially in light of external challenges and conspiracies?
Summer schools have a major role and an effective contribution in raising, refining, and advising this rising generation, and in educating them and building their capacities and giving them the skills and capabilities with which they can build their country and nation. Summer vacation is free time, and the free time is a “trap” if it is not filled with good things. The enemies, led by “America and Israel” (the arms of global Zionism), target our youth on all sides with destructive “soft war” weapons to separate them from Their religion and values.
Here comes the role of summer schools as a complement to public school. It thwarts the plots of the enemy who is betting on his “seclusion” with the youth during the holiday. We create a solid awareness that prevents the Yemeni youth from being an easy prey for plundering his wealth or violating his sanctities. But they can’t do that. We are with this great leadership and in light of this blessed Qur’anic journey. The people have become blessed with an awareness that embodies the hadith of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family: “Faith is Yemeni and wisdom is Yemeni,” and this is the fortress against which it is being destroyed. All diabolical plans.
Institutional integration
What distinguishes this year’s edition from previous years in terms of content and organization?
The distinction this year lies in “quality and integration”. Summer centers are no longer just traditional educational seminars, but have turned into a national workshop in which all sectors participate. The sectors of technical education, university education, agricultural, development, health, technical and communications contribute, in addition to the mobilization and security role. This diversity aims to provide an “integrated building” for the student; So that he emerges from the summer center possessing religious awareness, professional skill, health culture, and technical ability. We are creating a generation capable of building and protecting its homeland at the same time.
Curricula and paths
As an agent for the education sector, what are the most prominent curricula and activities that were focused on in this year’s plan? How is the religious, scientific and skill aspects balanced?
This year, we have adopted an integrated educational matrix, with the sciences of the Holy Qur’an and Quranic culture at the forefront as a basic reference for building awareness and purifying souls. In addition, the plan focuses on Arabic language skills and mathematics to strengthen the scientific aspects.
As for the budget, we follow the “parallel construction” methodology. So one side does not dominate the other. The curriculum is designed so that the student receives faith culture first, then moves on to innovative and skill-based activities (such as drawing, calligraphy, and scientific innovations), all the way to sports and physical activities. The goal is to build a balanced personality that worships God consciously and serves the nation skillfully and competently.
Standards of competence and role model
What are the criteria based on which the educational staff and supervisors in charge of these centers were selected?
The educational and administrative staff is the cornerstone, so we have adopted precise standards. The first is “educational competence” and field experience, and the second is “behavioral integrity” so that the teacher becomes a practical role model for students in his ethics and behavior. Teachers and supervisors were subjected to training and refresher courses before the centers were launched, to unify the educational vision and ensure that curricula are presented in an attractive and influential manner that suits all age groups of students.
Institutional turnout and coordination
How do you evaluate the level of student demand so far? What is the nature of coordination with relevant authorities to ensure success?
By God’s grace and success, the turnout this year exceeded expectations from the first days, and this reflects the growing community awareness of the importance of these schools. We seek to accommodate the largest possible number of our students, and we have no specific ceiling other than the facilities’ capacity, and we are working to expand it constantly.
As for coordination, it is at the highest levels. There is a joint higher committee for summer schools and permanent coordination with the ministries of “Youth and Sports, Health, Agriculture, Technical Education, and Security Authorities.” This integration ensures the provision of a safe environment, health services, and quality specialized programs that make the summer center an integrated national building unit.
Message to parents
What is your message to parents who are hesitant about enrolling their children?
Our message to parents: “Your children are a trust in your care, and summer schools are the fortress that protects them from bad companions and from the soft toxins of war that target their minds, whether through television screens or through smart phones and the Internet.” Hesitation is not in the children’s interest; Schools provide a safe, educational, and recreational environment that builds their future and does not waste their time.
Measuring impact and vision
How is the educational impact on students measured? Is there a trend to link the outcomes of summer schools to the educational process in the academic year?
We have a periodic follow-up and evaluation system that monitors behavioral and skill changes among students. The impact we see is in the students’ discipline, the improvement of their reading, and the maturity of their awareness of their nation’s issues. Certainly, there is a trend to link these outcomes to the academic year. The student who excels in summer schools is more psychologically and scientifically prepared for academic achievement. Our future vision aims to develop the work in summer schools into “comprehensive construction schools” that operate according to the latest technical means, while expanding professional and agricultural activities to meet the needs of the labor market and national development.

A final word that you would like to address through our platform to students and the community?
I say to my students: You are the generation of the Qur’an, the generation of jihad, the generation of victory, so seize this opportunity to acquire knowledge and guidance. And to the great Yemeni society: Your continued payment of your children to summer schools is a steadfastness front that is no less important than the military fronts. We are building a human being who will protect the land and preserve sovereignty.
