The Economic Commissions of the Senate and the House of Representatives approved the total amount of the General Budget of the Nation for 2027 of 634.9 billion pesos presented by the government of Abelardo De La Espriella.
The Minister of Finance, Miguel Gómez, acknowledged that this amount “is not optimal,” but assured that there is room to make modifications and changes that are necessary.
“This is not the budget with which we would have wanted to start the mandate, but is what we can afford given the conditions of the national economy,” he added.
