With a map of projects that included 14 governorates, the General Corporation for Roads and Bridges implemented, during the year 2025, 50 projects in the field of roads, and 18 bridges and construction projects at a total cost exceeding 8.5 billion riyals.
In addition to the role played by the Corporation in implementing road network maintenance work, the cost of which during the past year amounted to 11 billion and 260 million riyals, the Corporation, through the General Administration of Projects, implemented 50 projects in the field of roads at a cost of six billion and 803 million and 550 thousand riyals, while the General Administration of Bridges and Construction implemented 18 projects at a cost of more than one billion and 719 million riyals, bringing the cost of projects implemented by the Corporation, including maintenance, to approximately twenty billion riyals.
A report issued by the Projects Department of the General Corporation for Roads and Bridges stated that 14 projects were implemented in Hodeidah Governorate, including seven projects funded by the Road Maintenance Fund, which included ground pouring and asphalt tank bases, asphalt of the impoundment yard at the axial weighing station at Kilometer 12, protection work from flood damage for the Kilo 16 – Al-Jarahi road, and the coastal road – Kilo 50, and construction of box culverts and flood protection work for the Shafar – Al-Shahil, and Al-Hudaydah – Al-Qanawis roads. The project to establish an axial weighing station in Al-Salif, and maintain the Kilo 16-Al-Jarahi road and the Al-Salif-Al-Salif junction with a thin asphalt layer, as well as emergency interventions to restart the ports of Hodeidah and Al-Salif.
Meanwhile, three projects were implemented with funding from the local authority in the governorate, which included concrete paving of the street linking Al-Jarahi city and Al-Jarahi-Al-Udayn road, along with the implementation of rainwater and floodwater culverts, and the completion of the second phase of the asphalt project for the Al-Qanawis – Al-Maghlaf – Al-Kadan road, as well as the second phase of the asphalt project for the road linking Al-Durayhimi and the coastal line.
Hodeidah projects also included earthworks to drain rainwater from the internal courtyards of Hodeidah Port, and emergency works to maintain the Hodeidah Port’s berths – containers with supporting walls for Berth (7), funded by the Red Sea Ports Corporation, in addition to implementing an asphalt layer for the bases of tanks No. 8 and 10, as well as the bases of water and diesel tanks affiliated with the Ministry of Oil and Minerals, and building a floor wall for the branch of the Land Transport Regulatory Authority, with self-financing from the Authority.
The Foundation implemented nine projects in Saada Governorate, funded by the Road Maintenance Fund, which included paving the Al-Raqqa Road (third phase) and Al-Hubail branches, the Martyr Al-Qa’id Dam, and the health unit’s outcropping, implementing a handrail for the Jurf Salman stairs, and a liquid ferry in Wadi Layah in the Haydan District, completing the asphalting of the Mahdha Circle, widening the Al-Talh-Dhahyan Junction Road (first phase) to a length of four kilometers, and maintaining the Saada-Baqim Road. Paving Ould Amr Road (fourth phase), Al Shaqab Road in Haidan, widening the Al Talh Junction – Dahyan road (second phase), and opening the route of the 60th line in the city of Saada (first phase), in addition to the first and second phases of paving and asphalting the Dammaj – Al Salem road.
As for Taiz Governorate, it witnessed the implementation of the asphalt project for Abu Shahid Al-Jaradi Street in the Al-Taiziyah District, starting from the intersection of the Taiz-Aden Road, passing through the village of Al-Mashayaf, and reaching the Taiz-Sanaa Road, with a length of 1,420 meters and a width of 7 metres.
The projects in Dhamar Governorate included the second and third stages of asphalting the double line in the Rusaba area, the maintenance and restoration of the Dhaf market, the expansion of the axial weighing station on the Sana’a – Dhamar road, the rehabilitation of the East City market road, and the stone paving on the Al-Sanafi – Jabal Madinat Al-Sharq road, funded by the Road Maintenance Fund, as well as the Mawlid al-Nabawi Square platform project at Dhamar University, funded by the local authority, and the construction of the tributary barrier in Wadi Al-Hafed, funded by the Ministry of Agriculture.
The Foundation implemented four projects in Ma’rib Governorate, which included the construction and asphalting of the Al-Sharafa-Naqeel Al-Shuja’ road in the Hareeb-Al-Qaramish district in its stages (first, second, and third), in addition to the project of construction and asphalting of the Beit Zureiq branch road, branching off from the Hareeb-Al-Qaramish road, with a length of three kilometers.
While Al-Jawf Governorate witnessed the implementation of earth, construction and asphalt works on the Arhab – Hazm Al-Jawf road, and the maintenance of the Hazm Al-Jawf – Al-Yatma road (first and second phases), while the projects of the second and third phases of the rehabilitation of the Aqabat Ma’mash – Wadi Al-Jara – Al-Mahabsha road in Hajjah, with a length of 12 kilometers for each phase, were implemented with funding from the Road Fund, and the concrete paving project for the Rouhan – Wadi La’a road in Al-Rajm District in Al-Mahwit was implemented with funding from the Fund and with a contribution. Communal.
Two projects were also implemented to rehabilitate the collapsed section in Ras Mashura of the Ibb-Al-Udayn road, and the project to rehabilitate the eastern ring of the city of Yarim in Ibb Governorate, with funding from the Road Fund, and the incision, backfilling and expansion project and implementation of ferries for some important sites on Sharaf Al-Hussein Road in Al-Shariyah District in Al-Bayda, with funding from the local authority, and also the initial construction project for the Wadi Al-Laim – Al-Zanm road in the Bani Waqid isolation in Al-Jaafaria District in Raymah Governorate, with funding from the Fund and a community contribution.
In Sana’a Governorate, the Al-Sittin – Hamel – Artal road was paved and asphalted (first phase), funded by the Road Maintenance Fund.
The Corporation implemented a project to improve the aesthetic appearance and traffic safety in the capital secretariat, “barricades, directional signs, and traffic signals, in various locations in the secretariat’s districts, at a cost of 31 million riyals, as well as a traffic improvement project that included closing openings in the central islands, raising the islands, closing and lengthening tree beds, implementing and creating new lanes, restoring the old lanes, modifying the central islands, and improving movement in a number of main streets such as Al-Zubiri, Al-Sittin, and Amran, as well as supplying Implementing geothermal painting works for streets, pedestrian lines, and repainting sidewalks in the streets of Al-Zubairi, Al-Sittin, Amran, Marib, Taiz, and the airport, at a cost of 40.5 million riyals, funded by the local authority in the secretariat.
In addition to implementing the aforementioned projects, the General Projects Administration was able during the years 2024 AD and 2025 AD to purchase 15 new equipment and machinery at a cost of one billion and 144 million riyals, of which 10 equipment during the past year were two asphalt tanks with a capacity of 100 tons, two rubber drum compactors, a dumper (30) tons, three (10) bar compressors, and two electricity generators at a total cost of 529 million and 600 thousand. In turn, the General Administration of Bridges implemented a package of bridges and construction projects, the most important of which are the two runway bridges in Amran, the Talh-Dhahyan ferries, the Al-Raqwa and Qara bridges in Saada Governorate, the surface bridge of Mahdha Road in Saada, and the protection works for Aqabat Ma’mash in Hajjah Governorate, in addition to three bridges in Hodeidah Governorate, namely Al-Kadan, Kilo 16 – Al-Jarahi, and Abs – Hodeidah, in addition to the Ghailma Bridge in Raymah Governorate.
While the projects implemented in the field of construction included the building of the Great Messenger Center for Oncology Treatment (first phase), the Road Maintenance Fund building (first phase – B), and the construction works to protect the road (Al-Shorfa – Naqeel Al-Shuja’ Hareeb Al-Qaramish – Ma’rib Governorate) in its first, second and third phases, the establishment and equipment of the model collection center for khat sales tax in the Yaslah area, and the project of paving and asphalting the Saada – Al Salem road (second phase).
According to the annual report of the Bridges and Construction Department, during the year 2025 AD, many development works and projects were implemented for the department at a cost of 43 million and 200 thousand riyals, the most important of which was the construction of a new two-storey warehouse next to the General Administration building in Al-Zubairi, pouring floors for the Bridges and Construction warehouses in the central workshop, improving some of the entrances to the institution, repairing equipment from the quarry and reactivating it in partnership with the institution’s central workshop, in addition to performing comprehensive maintenance on most of the administration’s equipment.
It was also able to purchase many equipment, assets and tools used in bridges and construction projects at a total cost of 44 million and 200 thousand riyals, in addition to organizing four qualifying training courses for engineering personnel working in bridges and construction.
The report indicated that the traffic safety work carried out during the past year amounted to 247 million riyals, which included painting works, safety barriers, cat eyes, and traffic and warning signs, including the traffic sign factory’s production of various informational, indicative and other signs, which amounted to 972 various signs.
As for the corporation’s production complexes in Bajil, Taiz, and Saada, the total value of what they produced during the past year amounted to 690 million and 572 thousand riyals, of which 23 percent was the production of crushers, and 77 percent was the production of mixers.
Because the human element is one of the most important tools for implementing work plans and programs and providing services, the leadership of the General Authority for Roads, represented by the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Engineer Abdul Rahman Al-Hadrami, has given special importance to the subject of human resources training, by preparing a training plan for the years 2025-2026 AD in accordance with the latest methodologies used in identifying training needs with the assistance of specialized experts in this field.
Accordingly, during the year 2025 AD, 26 training courses were implemented, including heavy equipment systems and maintenance, professional project management, occupational health and safety, artificial intelligence, computers, automation and warehouses, quality, technical engineering programs, first aid, faith identity, and others.
Within the framework of institutional development and the attention it receives from the revolutionary leadership, the Supreme Political Council and the Government of Change and Construction, the General Corporation for Roads and Bridges is witnessing the implementation of an ambitious digital transformation project, of which it has completed 76 percent, which reflects significant progress towards building an integrated technical system that supports the nature of the institution’s project-based work, and for the project to form a basic pillar for modernizing its operational structure.
