RIMINI – The International Airport of Rimini and San Marino “Federico Fellini” records a new important result: in the month of July 2026, 113,466 passengers passed through the airport, with a growth of 72% compared to the same month of 2025, when there were 65,973.
The data represents the second best July in the airport’s historysurpassed only by the 2011 result with 131,211 passengers, and the fourth best overall month ever recorded by Fellini. The overall flight occupancy rate reached 91%, with the connection to Kaunas reaching 98%.
After the record in June, which closed with 101,124 passengers, the airport exceeded 100,000 passengers per month for the second consecutive month, a result that had not occurred since 2011. In the first seven months of 2026 the Fellini handled a total of 326,878 passengers, with an increase of 40.6% compared to the same period in 2025.
The growth is supported above all by the activity of Ryanair and Wizz Air, which together handled 101,365 passengers in the month of July alone, equal to 89.4% of total traffic. The international network has also expanded thanks to the presence of companies such as EasyJet, British Airways and Luxair.
Among the most important destinations of the month, Budapest confirmed its first place with 14,655 passengers, followed by London with 12,865 and Krakow with 10,263. At market level, Poland confirms itself as the main international catchment area of the airport with 25,779 passengers, equal to 22.7% of overall traffic, followed by the United Kingdom with 15,961 passengers and Hungary with 14,655.
The return of Germany is also significant, thanks to the connection with Cologne which generated 4,517 passengers in the month. Overall, Poland, the United Kingdom, Hungary and Germany accounted for more than half of July’s traffic, with 60,912 passengers.
The CEO of AIRiminum 2014 SpA Leonardo Corbucci underlines the strategic value of the result: “The comparison with 2011 measures the importance of the result, but does not yet fully tell what we are building. We are not trying to bring Fellini back to its past: we are assigning the airport a new function in the future of the destination”.
According to Corbucci, exceeding the 100,000 passenger mark for the second consecutive month demonstrates that “today Rimini and Romagna have a concrete platform to reach international markets and transform accessibility into presences, overnight stays, employment and value for the territory”.
The CEO also highlights that “a route is not a point of arrival, but the beginning of a market project”, explaining that Fellini will continue to work “to negotiate new air capacity, analyze demand and make data, opportunities and relationships with carriers available to the territory”.
For Corbucci, future growth will depend on the ability to transform international connections into structured relationships with the markets: “The objective is clear: consolidate strategic markets, lengthen the season, increase the value generated by each connection and make Rimini and Romagna an increasingly accessible, recognizable and competitive European destination”.
Finally, the manager thanked airlines, institutions and local operators, underlining the role of the collaboration between the Emilia-Romagna Region, APT Servizi and the Riviera Municipalities in supporting the growth of the airport.
