SAN MARINO – San Marino Innovation and the San Marino Association for IT (ASI) signed a memorandum of understanding on 23 October to support the development of the ICT sector in the Republic of San Marino. The agreement aims to strengthen digital skills, promote cybersecurity and make the territory more attractive for technology companies.
Among the foreseen objectives is the possible creation of an Observatory on the ICT sector and innovation, intended to monitor the evolution of the sector and to provide useful elements to guide sector initiatives and policies.
“With this agreement we join forces to grow the San Marino ICT sector”, declares Gian Angelo Geminiani, president of San Marino Innovation. “San Marino has the means, professionals and skills to become a point of reference for technological innovation”.
A significant part of the collaboration will concern schools, universities and training. The protocol includes workshops, internships, study projects, orientation activities and refresher courses for teachers, with the aim of bringing students closer to the concrete applications of technology and professional opportunities in the sector.
The agreement also includes the technical contribution to institutional discussions and the study of regulatory proposals. Initiatives are also planned to spread digital culture among citizens, businesses, professionals and the Public Administration, with particular attention to cybersecurity and digital transformation.
“This agreement represents an important opportunity to strengthen the collaboration between San Marino Innovation and ASI, creating new synergies between institutions, businesses and the world of training”, says Luca Gentilini, president of ASI. The association intends to enhance the skills of its members, support the training of young people and contribute to the technological and digital development of the Republic.
