Prime Minister Edi Rama has sent a direct message to the protesters who have gathered on Boulevard Dëshmorët e Kombit, a few meters away from Italy Square, where the socialists are celebrating the 35th anniversary of the creation of the Socialist Party.
Aware that the protest started parallel to the event of the socialists, Edi Rama invited the citizens to sit in the discussions and watch what he called “mediation to be praised” by the state administration to protect Sazan and Zvërnec.
Despite his willingness to talk but not negotiate with the protesters, the prime minister and leader of the Socialists sent a clear message to the crowd on the boulevard:
“I have no negotiation to do with you, because I do not negotiate the program with those who did not vote for me.”

Come verify the facts yourself, see the evidence and feel relieved and proud of how our institutions have represented the processes for Sazan and Zvrnec.
Come and see with your own eyes that there is no status as a strategic investor, come and hear with your ears how even today there is no agreement for Sazan, but a prolonged negotiation. It is being extended because we do not represent the interests of investors, no matter how good friends of Albania they are.
On behalf of those interests, we have made it clear at the table that the island is not for sale and the island is not for rent. The island is and remains the property of the Albanian state. Meanwhile, the state wants to participate as a partner in the investment and wants a share of the profit of the investment for the Albanian people.
I have no negotiation to do with you, because I do not negotiate the program with those who did not vote for me.
Regarding this topic, I am available at any time, on how we should harmonize the protection of nature with the development of tourism. As for the fate of the development in Zvrnec, it will be decided only by the quality of the project and the development ambition of the investors.
Run away from the hyenas that hang around you, because you will be the first to be drowned by the drools that seek power and hide them under the cages they put on their heads and the flags they tie around their necks.
Those of you who are sincerely concerned with the environment and nature, do not confuse the orientation of where the danger comes from and come join the Socialist Party, which badly needs anyone who disagrees with what is wrong.
I am very clear that now a protest started for nature has turned into a political protest, absolutely legitimate, for anyone who will change their future.
