Police are looking into the discovery of a 67-year-old man’s body in the Marchand River.
On Friday, June 5, 2026, around 5:20 p.m., officers from the Marchand Police Station responded to a report about a body in the river. When they arrived, they found a man lying face down and unresponsive in the water.
There were no obvious signs of violence on the body. A medical practitioner confirmed the man was dead at the scene.
The man has been identified as Andrew Yarde, 67, from Bishop’s Gap, Marchand.
Police are still investigating the circumstances of this incident.
