The Nanterre Prosecutor’s Office, located on the outskirts of the French capital, Paris, announced today, Monday, that the famous French singer, Patrick Bruel, has been placed under investigation as part of investigations related to accusations of sexual violence.
According to what was reported by the French news agency, the 67-year-old artist has been subject to several investigations in France since preliminary testimonies were published last March on the Mediapart website, where he faces accusations of rape in at least four cases, in addition to an open judicial investigation in Belgium regarding sexual assault.
The file of a previous complaint dating back to 2015, which had been closed earlier, related to allegations of rape of a young woman, was also reopened.
Among the complainants is French TV presenter Flavie Flaman, who confirms that she was raped by the singer in 1991 when she was 16 years old.
On the other hand, Patrick Bruel denies all the accusations against him, stressing that the relationship that brought him together with Fluffy Flamen was a “short emotional relationship,” and he also stressed that he did not force any woman or practice any form of manipulation or subjugation.
Against the backdrop of these developments, the artist announced the cancellation of all his scheduled concerts in Paris, in addition to his participation in festivals scheduled during the summer in France, Canada, and the United States of America.
