Last weekend, 40 Groovy and 40 Power Soca Monarch artistes performed before a panel of judges for an opportunity to qualify for the semifinal round.
Over the years, the National Soca Monarch competition has been a staple event on the Lucian Carnival calendar, with fans eagerly following the journey to the finals. Following what organisers described as a highly competitive quarterfinal round, 20 Groovy Soca and 20 Power Soca entries have secured their places in the next stage of the contest.
The semifinals of the Groovy and Power Soca Monarch competitions will be held on June 26, 2026.
