A Police Constable, who is currently under investigation for alleged for attempted murder, has been granted bail on a theft charge.
Phillip Arrindell of Layou appeared at the Serious Offences Court before Chief Magistrate Colin John, on April 7, 2026 where he was granted bail for allegedly stealing one black Suzuki vehicle key valued EC$1,500.00, the property of Jadiel Riffin of Villa.
The offence is said to have been committed between March 16 and 19, 2026, between Kingstown and Calliaqua.
Arrindell maintained that he was not guilty, the same as when he was arraigned on March 31, 2026. Prosecutor, Renrick Cato did not object to his bail and asked that sufficient surety be provided.
Chief Magistrate John then granted Arrindell bail in the sum of $3,000 with one surety. He transferred the matter to the Calliaqua Magistrate’s Court for April 13, 2026.
During his arraignment, Arrindell was remanded into custody for a week after the prosecutor informed the court that the officer was under investigation for attempted murder.
