The head of the SP Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla, published a few days ago♪7 the guiding messages of the protesters in a “Telegram” group, where plans are made to destroy shopping centers and 5-star hotels in Tirana. The vandals are instructed through messages to break the windows and burn down two of the biggest businesses in the capital. “Everything according to the orders given by messages”, Balla writes on Facebook.
In some of the violent protests, masked hooligans have destroyed businesses, mainly banks, but they have also looted businesses, mainly phone, clothing, accessory stores, etc. Some private entities have begun to put iron guards on their windows, in order to avoid possible damage during the protest, while many others have closed their shops.
Meanwhile, many business owners in Tirana have started to take other measures, being equipped with weapons, mainly with rifles and ammunition (pig guns). Because closing businesses is bringing financial costs, some business owners are thinking of protecting their private property from hooligans like in the US.
