The authorities of Kazakhstan announced the signing of agreements with technology companies NVIDIA and Firebird for a total of $10 billion for the development of projects in the field of artificial intelligence.
How Fergana reports with reference to the press service of the government of the republic, the signing ceremony took place with the participation of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov, NVIDIA Vice President Rev Lebaredyan, as well as Firebird co-founders Razmik Hovakimyan and Alexander Yesayan.
The key area of cooperation will be the implementation of the “Valley of Data Centers” project in the city of Ekibastuz. Within its framework, it is planned to create one of the largest computing clusters in Eurasia for artificial intelligence tasks. According to the government, the infrastructure will be equipped with up to 100 thousand modern NVIDIA GPUs.
Speaking at the ceremony, Olzhas Bektenov emphasized that the development of artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure is one of the country’s strategic priorities. According to him, the new project will attract leading international technology partners and strengthen Kazakhstan’s position as a platform for hosting global digital infrastructure.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development Zhaslan Madiyev noted that investments of $10 billion can generate at least $3 billion in export revenue annually, as well as contribute to the creation of new jobs and the further development of Kazakhstan as the digital center of Eurasia.
