Ordino’s Bear participated last Saturday June 20 in the International Parade of the Iberian Mask, event that has put the final point on the Festival International of Iberian Masquerade (FIMI), held in Oviedo between June 12 and 20.
The Andorran representation has paraded next to nearly 600 participants and more than one thirty groups from Spain, Portugal and Andorrain a meeting that has turned the Asturian capital into a showcase of the cultural heritage linked to masquerades.
with the Mazcaritus of Uviéu as hosts, the Ossa d’Ordino collective, integrated into the Association of Popular Culture of Ordinohas been part of the entourage together with diabolical figures, mythological animals and characters characteristic of winter rituals.
The Andorran participation has been one of the novelties of this edition, since it is the first time that the principality takes part in the festival, which this year has reached its eighteenth edition. Until now, the FIMI had always been held in Lisbon under the organization of the Associação para a Promoção, Gestão e Desenvolvimento do Turismo Cultural in Portugal.
This year’s edition was also the first that has been developed outside Portugal since the creation of the contest, thus expanding its sphere of influence with the celebration a Oviedo.
