The accused youth has been identified as 30-year-old Nagendra. According to the police, Nagendra and the girl once had a relationship. The young woman is working as an OT technician in Bangalore. Recently their relationship broke up. The girl blocked Nagendra on the phone. But Nagendra could not accept the separation.
Nagendra showed up at the girl’s rented house in Bengaluru’s Jayanagar on Saturday morning using the app cab Uber. There was an argument between the two. After that he forced the girl into the cab. The girl’s parents filed a complaint of abduction at the police station after not finding their daughter. On the other side, the cab keeps running towards Ankola.
Police said Nagendra threatened the girl. He said that he would commit suicide by killing the young woman. Police suspect that Nagendra had taken explosives in the car. He also showed it to the young woman on the way. On reaching Jogihil, he attacked the former with a knife. The driver stopped the car in that situation. As the lock opened, the young woman jumped out after pushing the door.

Within a few moments, there was a strong explosion in the car. The car was engulfed in flames. Nagendra was trapped inside. He died of burns while alive. Due to the car explosion in the middle of the road, traffic jam was created in the area. The young woman survived by jumping from the car. The driver of the car also survived the injury. He was admitted to Tumakuru District Hospital.
Tumakuru Superintendent of Police Ashok KV said that the initial investigation indicated the presence of explosives in the car. Nagendra is believed to have detonated the bomb deliberately. Explosives like bombs were also recovered from the spot. An investigation has been started on the matter. The type of explosive used is currently being tested. It is also being seen from where Nagendra bought the explosives. Kollambela police have registered a case in this incident.
