Together with Archbishop Roko Đonlešaj of Bar, as announced by the Government, he discussed social development and the European perspective of Montenegro, with a special focus on the role of religious communities in strengthening social cohesion and the culture of dialogue.
“It was emphasized that mutual respect and open communication are the foundation of a stable society and an important instrument for overcoming differences,” the statement said.
It is stated that, in this context, the importance of affirming European values, including respect for the dignity of every person, solidarity and orientation towards the common good, as well as the need for their additional strengthening through the activities of institutions and communities, is emphasized.
“Ivanović pointed out that Montenegro, with its multi-religious and intercultural character, symbolizes the diverse identity of Europe, stressing that the preservation of such a society contributes to its successful progress towards the EU,” said the Government.
Đonlešaj emphasized the commitment to strengthening dialogue and trust between communities, stressing that the Archdiocese of Bar supports all initiatives that benefit all citizens of Montenegro, including the country’s European path.
The interlocutors assessed that the further progress of Montenegro rests on partnership, trust and responsible action of all social actors, with a strong commitment to the European path and universal values.
