In the new parliament, there are many new faces who are crossing the parliamentary hall for the first time. The average age is 49.7 years. The doyen of the 52nd NA will be Rumen Milanov from PB, who is 77 years old.
Boyko Rashkov from PP-DB (71) and SDS leader Rumen Hristov (70) are also over 70. In the parliament, 14 mandates have been hot and boiling – Jevdet Chakarov from DPS and 13 Lachezar Ivanov from GERB.
The 52nd National Assembly will have the most generals
There are such in most groups, starting with the leader of the future rulers, Rumen Radev. Such are also the former head of the NSO, the National Office for “Fighting Organized Crime” and “Gendarmerie” – Rumen Milanov, the former head of the “Graf Ignatievo” air base Ivan Lalov.
There are also generals in the other groups – Boyko Borisov in GERB, Atanas Atanasov in DB.
Apart from them, this will be the parliament with the most military and former employees of the Ministry of the Interior – a powerful group is not only in PB, but also in GERB, DPS and PP-DB.
Dominance of lawyers and return of doctors
1/6 of the deputies are lawyers – 42 in number. They also have two more groups: economists and financiers, as well as entrepreneurs and business representatives.
For the first time in years, the medical profession will have a powerful lobby among the deputies – more than 20 in total.
Four former prime ministers and dozens of ministers
There are also many former ministers – 8 from Radev’s office, 14 from GERB, 8 from PP-DB, 4 from DPS. And to top it off, in the 52nd National Assembly, four former prime ministers of the country – Boyko Borisov, Nikolay Denkov, Rosen Zhelyazkov and Galab Donev – will enter the hall.
The ministers are also a significant group – 8 from Rumen Radev’s former offices and at least 14 people from all governments of and with the participation of GERB, 8 from PP-DB and four from DPS. Only in “Vazrazhdane” there is no one with experience in executive power.
Statistics of names and female presence
In this parliament, there will be the most deputies with the name Georgi – 9 in number, and three of them are Idesa and surnamed – Georgi Georgiev (one each in PB, GERB and “Vazrazhdane”).
To them we must add an almost namesake – former foreign minister Georg Georgiev. Dimitar and Ivan are next in the ranking of the lost – eight people will each have this name, followed by Stefan – seven.
Among women, the variety of names is greater, as Rumyana, Alexandra and Daniela have the same name – two each.
54 will be the women in the first composition of the 52nd NA, and the number will probably change after the exit of a large group with the future Prime Minister Rumen Radev in the executive power.
