The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan has submitted for public discussion a draft order on introducing changes and additions to the list of medicines and medical products purchased from a single distributor, a Kazinform agency correspondent reports.
Document developed as part of the revision of the order dated August 20, 2021 No. KR DSM-88. Public discussion will last until May 20, 2026.
According to the department, the changes are aimed at increasing the efficiency of drug provision to the population, introducing modern drugs and rational use of budget funds.
According to the draft, it is proposed to exclude from the list 21 items of medicines that have lost their relevance, and at the same time include 17 new drugs, as well as one medical product with proven clinical effectiveness and safety.
It is noted that the inclusion of new positions is due to their effectiveness, confirmed by professional expertise, as well as the need to expand the therapeutic options for treating patients.
The ministry emphasized that the implementation of the proposed changes will optimize the drug procurement system, improve the quality of medical care and ensure more efficient use of budget funds.
The project was prepared taking into account the decisions of the Formulary Commission and the current needs of the healthcare system. The department added that work to improve the lists of medicines will continue taking into account international standards and clinical practice.
Earlier it became known that in Kazakhstan price reduction recorded for 631 drug positions by an average of 24.6%.
