Acevedo is prosecuted for having repeatedly run over Morales, who was driving a motorcycle, in an incident that occurred in September 2025 in zone 9 of the capital.
As a result of that incident, which was recorded, the victim lost a leg. This Tuesday, in statements to the press, he narrated what he had to experience after the mishap.
“It has been very difficult because it has been a long process, my rehabilitation has cost a lot, it is difficult to process everything that has happened and I am going to see what happens in this hearing,” he said.
He said that, after the accident, the change in his life has been radical. “I had a life ahead of me, I was studying a degree in Nursing and I couldn’t continue, the rehabilitations have been tedious and long, it has changed my life a lot.”
He added that he remembers how the incident happened and that a person helped him, so he hopes that justice will be done and the case will be resolved.
The images captured by security cameras documented the moment in which the vehicle driven by Acevedo ran over Morales when he was stopped in front of a red light, at 4 p.m. on September 25, 2025.
