The National Museum of Natural History “Prof. Eugenio de Jesús Marcano” (MNHN) inaugurated the youth photography exhibition Wildlife Focusan exhibition that highlights the richness and diversity of the fauna of the Dominican Republic.
The exhibition is the result of the third edition of the photography contest Wildlife Focusheld between April and May of this year and in which young people between 18 and 25 years old participated.
Cristian Abiel Miliano Díaz, with the photo “Watchtower in the sand” taken on Las Caobitas beach, it won first place. The young man received 100,000 pesos as a prize and a scholarship to study a higher technical degree in photography at the Community Higher Technical Institute (ITSC).
Elian Horacio Vásquez won second place with the photo “Emerald Banquet” and, as a prize, he won 60,000 pesos and a scholarship for continuing education in the area of Multimedia at the Technological Institute of the Americas (ITLA).

Jorge Alexander Rodríguez, winner of third place with the photo “The Song of the Palm Cigua”, He received 40,000 pesos and a scholarship for continuing education in the area of Multimedia at ITLA.
Geremy Cipión, Mirla Montilla, Perla Mariel De la Cruz and Nathaly Guzmán Reyes were recognized with special mentions, who obtained a continuing education scholarship in the area of Multimedia at ITLA.

OF THE COMPETITION. The MNHN explained that this initiative seeks to awaken interest in biodiversity through a proposal that combines technology, creativity, healthy competition and observation of the natural environment.
Also “encourage photography as a tool to transform the way we perceive and value nature.”
WHERE. The temporary exhibition has been exhibited on the third level of the Museum since June 5. Each participant could submit three photographs.
