Two clerics of the Metropolitan district of Paphos packed up and left the Metropolis of Paphos, finding refuge in Diocese of Limassol.
According to information from philenews, the abandonment of the Paphos Metropolis was done in order to avoid commemorating (now and in the future) the new Metropolitan and their superior, Mr. Grigorios.
Under normal circumstances, after the enthronement of the new Metropolitan, from the same day in all divine liturgies and religious ceremonies all the priests of the metropolitan district of Paphos must commemorate the relevant Metropolitan.
The two priests, who belonged to and worked in different churches, until yesterday commemorated the Metropolitan on holiday Random. One cleric is a priest and the second a deacon. One of the two allegedly ministered in a church of the Municipality of Paphos district, while the second in a community.
Now in Limassol they will commemorate the Metropolitan of Limassol Athanasios who received them in his Metropolis.
The two allegedly asked him new Metropolitan of Paphos Mr. Grigorio to sign the relevant document which is necessary for them to move to another Diocese. According to information, the new Metropolitan Grigorios, respecting the choice of the two, signed the two priests the graduation letter.
