The intelligence and security services of France have informed their counterparts in Montenegro about the arrival of a group of people from Serbia who are allegedly from the criminal milieu, mostly known for their links with the ruling Serbian Progressive Party of Aleksandar Vucic, on a chartered flight to Tivat, it reported. Antenna M citing “multiple well-informed sources.”
The French company “Vinci”, which manages the airport “Nikola Tesla” in Belgrade, was the first to receive information about this charter flight. Through the liaison officer, she informed the French intelligence unit DGSE (Directorate General for External Security), which alerted the Montenegrin authorities.
By the way, the French President Emmanuel Macron is also coming to the summit in Tivat, so the increased vigilance of the French services is a logical consequence.
The Montenegrin police and the National Security Agency officially announced that “today, as part of the extensive, continuous and intensified activities they are carrying out on the occasion of the EU-Western Balkans summit, at the border crossing at the Tivat airport, strengthened border and security controls were carried out, during which a charter flight on the route Belgrade-Tivat, which was transporting 87 citizens of the Republic of Serbia to Montenegro, was separated and placed under control.”
Sources close to the Police Administration of Montenegro state that among the passengers were people with criminal records, who were suspected of arriving informally to secure the stay of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic during the European Union and Western Balkans Summit in Tivat, which will be held on Friday, June 5.
The police point out that, within the framework of the activities aimed at preserving a stable security environment, the security services promptly identified people of security interest and, in accordance with the legal authorizations and the assessed risks, took appropriate official measures and actions, which prevented the mentioned persons from staying in the territory of Montenegro, by handing over a decision to ban entry.
