– There are only a few days left before the elections, in the evangelical saying, we are in the “tribulational week”. What important conclusions did you come to in this meeting, what important messages did you receive from the voters in public meetings, which changed your tactics in some way?
– Indeed, the last week is the week of the greatest trials. During all this time, we have tried to understand what, ultimately, is the desire, the goal, the vision of the future of Armenia of the Armenian people. And we came to the conclusion that the Armenian people want change in their lives. Maybe some part has not decided yet, maybe some part does not trust, having a bad experience from 2018, but the fact that the Armenian people want change is unequivocal. We are convinced that this change can be brought by the new leader without the burden of political mistakes, without being the successor of those who made political mistakes. And that power is “Strong Armenia”.
– The political persecutions by the authorities against the representatives of “Strong Armenia” – arrests, detentions – are of a particularly massive nature. The most recent case was Alik Aleksanyan, what is the reason for his arrest?
– The most extensive repressions are being carried out against the “Strong Armenia” party. It shows that the authorities are afraid of “Strong Armenia”, and the arrest of Alik Aleksanyan is nothing but a demonstration of the fear of these authorities, because they clearly see what authority Alik Aleksanyan has, how much the people love him, and thus they are trying to isolate and remove from the ranks one of our strongest, brightest representatives. However, these authorities have once again made a mistake in their calculations, because we are getting stronger from these repressions and on June 3 we will show all our strength, with all our supporters, with our strong Armenian people, gathering in Republic Square.
