The Broad Front politician (FA) and member of List 770, Alvaro Da Cundadied in the last hours after receiving compensation while provided assistance at a fire.
The news of his death was reported by his group through a heartfelt message on social networks, where they expressed their “deep pain” for the fact.
“A dear companion is leavinga wonderful person and a great social activist, whose dedication and commitment will remain as an example in the collective memory,” they wrote on Facebook.
“To his family and friends, our fraternal and supportive embrace in this moment of sadness“they added.
From the Communist Party (PCU), through its Salto department, they also referred to the issue and expressed their condolences.
“The PCU, departmental Salto – Advanced Democracy 1001, sends its deepest condolences to the family, colleagues and colleagues of List 770, upon the loss of colleague Álvaro Da Cunda, referent of said group and the FA“, they expressed.
Da Cunda was former secretary general of the Departmental Board of Salto and a reference within its list. Until now he served as a member of the Political Table of his party in Salto.
According to local media Laguardia, the death of the left-wing politician occurred in the afternoon after providing support in a fire that broke out in a precarious housing in the departmental capital.
It was in this context that at a certain moment he suffered a decompensation, being rushed to the Salto Hospital, where he died shortly after.
