
Panama City/A Cuban citizen wanted in the United States for sex trafficking and human trafficking was arrested in Panama by agents of the National Immigration Service (SNM), the security entity reported this Wednesday.
The 41-year-old foreigner, whose identity was not revealed, was apprehended in Terminal 2 of the Tocumen International Airport, which serves the capital, where he arrived on a flight from Suriname with a final destination to Mexico, according to a statement from Immigration.
This person “has a current arrest warrant issued in the state of Texas, United States, for (the) alleged Commission of Conspiracy Crimes involving Sexual Trafficking, Human Trafficking and related crimes,” the statement indicates.
Official information indicates that the individual “will be detained at the disposal of the competent authorities to comply with the international judicial order” of arrest.

This arrest joins another this week also at the Tocumen airport of a citizen of Mexican nationality wanted in the United States for his alleged connection to a case of rape of a minor, and who was arrested in Panama by agents of the Interpol National Central Office.
The police action that led to the capture of the Mexican, whose identity was not revealed, occurred after he arrived on a flight from Medellín, Colombia, “with the intention of entering the national territory.”
The security entity indicated that the arrest was possible thanks to international police cooperation mechanisms and the exchange of information through Interpol, “reaffirming Panama’s commitment to the fight against transnational crime and the protection of children.”
