Thousands of Colombian fans transformed the Angel of Independence in an authentic tricolor party, gathering with flags, chants and t-shirts to accompany their team in the run-up to its World Cup premiere.
The emblematic avenue of the capital was painted yellow, blue and red in an atmosphere of enthusiasm that made clear the strong support for the team led by Nestor Lorenzo.

With the energy, joy and passion that distinguishes the coffee fans, the followers showed full confidence in the national team and anticipated what is expected in the stands. Everything indicates that Colombia will have a majority in the Mexico City Stadiumwhere they will seek to boost their team against Uzbekistan in a debut that is already experienced with intensity off the field.

At the rhythm of salsa, cumbia and vallenatoboth the fans who traveled to experience the FIFA tournament and the Colombians living in Mexico shared their passion in a festive atmosphere. The energy was contagious, to the extent that several Mexican fans did not hesitate to join the celebration and let themselves be carried away by the tricolor joy.
“It is time to demonstrate the strength of the Colombian National Team. We are very excited to have the opportunity to see our country in the most important tournament and also so close to home; that makes many not think twice about coming,” commented Luis Córdoba, a fan who proudly wore James Rodríguez’s shirt.

With the hope of seeing the generation led by Luis Diaz transcend on the world stage, the fans did not hesitate to assume the role of favorite against a debutant team, now led by Fabio Cannavaro, convinced that this team has the talent to make history.
“We are going to win, we have a great team to make history. Against Uzbekistan we are going to start on the right foot and take the first step towards the title,” said Andrea Carrillo, a fan who made the trip from Medellín to accompany the team.
