The Minister of Social Affairs, Trini Marín, explained this afternoon that they only have evidence of one person who has sleeping on the ground in the Central Parkdespite the fact that the security services of the site have indicated that there had been two. In fact, the head of Social Affairs has indicated that the services of the ministry had not been aware until after the second night, from Monday to Tuesday, and that as soon as it was known the protocols were activated. Marín appeared before the media with the Minister of Justice and Interior, Ester Molné, who confirmed that “as soon as the police became aware of this case, it was referred to the Ministry of Social Affairs, which made the relevant arrangements to find accommodation for this person.” In fact, Marín has indicated that he is a person who has needed assistance on previous occasions and that “she knows perfectly all the circuits, all the resources they have from Social Affairs”. But the minister also recalled that no one can be forced to receive help: “if he refuses, we can’t do anything about it,” he replied. Molné, in turn, has defended that “it is a very residual case” and that when they happen they are treated individually “and very satisfactorily”. For data protection, the head of Social Affairs did not want to specify what is this person’s housing situation.
