Over two weeks, an employee must pack around 3,000 m³ of waste into large sacks in Narsaq.
The process has been set in a clean-up at the landfill in Narsaq to deal with the large amounts of waste that have accumulated in recent times.
That is why extra personnel have been sent from Qaqortoq to the city.
Kommune Kujalleq writes this on its website.
– Extra help was needed to pack the waste into large sacks. Therefore, we have sent an employee from Qaqortoq to Narsaq, who in the next two weeks will pack around 3,000 m³ of waste into large sacks. The next phase will be to sort the remaining waste into combustible and non-combustible, says Jakob Petrussen, environmental engineer in Kujalleq Municipality.
In connection with the sorting work, a contractor will be sought for the task.
– We have sent tender materials out to contractors who wish to bid for the task of sorting the combustible and non-combustible waste. Once the municipality has approved an offer, the sorting work can begin, says Jakob Petrussen.
It is expected that the sorting work can begin before the end of the year.
