Bomb threats against schools in Croatia again
In Croatia, today, as in previous days, there are bomb threats against schools. The evacuation of several schools in the area of Zagreb, Split and Rijeka is underway. The police say that they are aware of the reports and are taking action in accordance with the prescribed procedures.
According to the Index portal, the gymnasium building in the western part of Zagreb has already been evacuated, and according to reports from the field, evacuations are still underway in some other high schools. Notifications of bomb threats also reached the headlines of some media.
In recent days, Croatia has received a series of bomb threats in schools, which forced them to interrupt classes. In addition to schools, kindergartens and some shopping centers also received threats. Applications were also sent to the addresses of local self-governments, the government, the parliament, the police and the media. In total, more than 500 such applications were reported last week, according to Index.
All threats turned out to be false. Interior Minister Davor Božinović said on Thursday that the notifications came from fake email addresses from abroad and that the police are looking for the perpetrators with the help of Europol and American agencies.
