Andorra’s National Cybersecurity Agency (ANC-AD) has alerted to the existence of dozens of serious vulnerabilities in the Android operating system and has urged users to update their devices immediately to avoid potential security risks.
The warning comes after Google published in its monthly security bulletin of June one alerts about bugs affecting millions of devices around the worldincluding those that work in Andorra. according to the ANC-ADthese vulnerabilities could allowing cybercriminals to access mobile phones without authorization and without the owners being aware of it.
The security issues affect Android versions 14, 15, 16 and 16-QPR2, which are present in most smartphones today. The vulnerabilities compromise different components of the operating system and also chips from manufacturers like Qualcomm, MediaTek, Unisoc i Imagination Technologies.
The agency highlights one in particular critical vulnerability detected in the core component of the Android systemknown as Frameworkwhich could allow a remote attacker to obtain elevated privileges within the device without requiring the user to perform any action. In addition, Google has warned that one of the identified vulnerabilities, CVE-2025-48595, may be being exploited in a limited way in real environments, confirming that the threat is not just theoretical.
Faced with this situation, the ANC–A.D recommends check that the device has the security patch of June 5, 2026 or later, keep on Google Play Protect and avoid installing apps outside of official stores.
The organization remembers that the Smartphones store particularly sensitive informationlike bank details, photographs, private conversations or access to essential servicesand emphasizes that keeping them updated is a matter of both individual and collective security.
