This action was taken with the aim of attracting public participation and maintaining the stability of the electricity grid, and the officials emphasize that all the information of the reporters will remain completely confidential.
Incentive policy to identify illegal cryptocurrency farms
The CEO of Greater Tehran Electricity Distribution Company, pointing to the importance of citizens’ participation in identifying illegal mining centers, announced that based on existing guidelines, people’s reports will be rewarded. These bonuses, whose amount varies depending on the number and capacity of the cryptocurrency mining devices discovered, start from a minimum of 3 million tomans and can be paid up to 300 million tomans for large cases.
He further emphasized the safety of the reporters and noted: “The identity of all the people who participate in this project remains completely confidential and there is no need to worry about the disclosure of their personal information.”

Unauthorized use of electricity to mine digital currency, in addition to causing severe fluctuations in the network and reducing the quality of electricity supply, causes significant damage to national infrastructure.
