“We consider it absurd that the Initiative for the recognition of Kosovo comes from the DNP, the party that formed an alliance with the DPS and its satellites in Podgorica, directly violating the electoral will of the citizens,” said the head of the PES councilor club in Pljevlja, Radoman Andesilić.
As he adds, at the moment when PES records the highest rating in that city, thanks, as he claims, to the program that restored dignity and improved the lives of citizens through increased wages and pensions, as well as the realization of capital investments throughout Montenegro, the situation is particularly visible in Pljevlja.
“A total of 113 million euros of investment is intended for projects from the Plan for the recovery of the city and other development projects, which represents the largest investment cycle ever allocated to Pljevlja. These funds include, among other things, the heating of the city, the construction of a new hospital and residential buildings of the RUP, as well as sections of the road to Dajevića han,” he says.
Precisely because of all this, as he emphasizes, he believes that it was strategically especially important for them to open the topic of fueling national tensions – according to the old, tried and tested recipe of their new coalition partners.
“Now it is completely clear that the initiatives on the recognition of Kosovo in Zeta and Pljevlje were just a cover and throwing dust in the eyes of the public, especially the Serbs in Montenegro, while behind the scenes a coalition with the DPS was being prepared. The Europe Movement in Pljevlje is now made up of people of different beliefs, including a large number of Serbs. This is precisely why we reject attempts by others to dictate national or political positions to us,” says Andesilić.
He tells the DNP not to present himself as the exclusive protector of Serbs in Montenegro, he adds.
“We remind them that the majority of the Serbian electorate put their trust in the Europe Now Movement and the New Serbian Democracy. The public of Montenegro saw who the DNP trusts on June 18 in the capital’s Assembly, when they united with the DPS to create a new parliamentary majority against the will and interests of the citizens who elected them. After all, if the proponents really believe in the importance and reach of this initiative that they sent to us, which has no legal effect, we remind them that with their partners today they form a new majority in the capital. It would be natural for them to start with a proposal like this from Podgorica and show its concrete results in action,” Andesilić concluded.
