Trump: The Iranians are “dishonourable” and do not have what is called “good faith” dealings
US President Donald Trump said on Friday that “the conditions that Iran leaked to the fake media have absolutely nothing to do with what was agreed upon in writing.”
Trump added in a post on the “Truth Social” platform, “What Tehran mentioned, including its weak statement about reaching an agreement, has nothing to do with the truth,” considering that they are people who “lack honor” in dealing.
Trump’s post read: “The terms that Iran leaked to ‘Fake News’ have absolutely nothing to do with the terms that were agreed upon in writing… What they said, including their weak and pathetic statement about reaching an agreement, has nothing to do with the truth. They are people who have a complete lack of honor in dealing, and there is no such thing as dealing in good faith. Amazing! Their drone attack last night against Indian ships leaving the Strait of Hormuz, which was completely repulsed, is astonishing.” It is absolutely unacceptable for them to review their accounts and be disciplined.”
Yesterday, Thursday, Trump said that he had canceled launching new attacks on Iran because of reaching an agreement. The terms of the agreement, as described by Iranian officials on Friday, appear to meet most of Tehran’s demands, while Trump appears to have achieved only a little of what he sought, with the exception of reopening the Strait of Hormuz, which the Islamic Republic closed after the US President ordered attacks in February. A senior Iranian source told Reuters today that the draft agreement stipulates lifting sanctions imposed on Iran’s oil, releasing billions of dollars of its frozen funds, and stopping hostilities on all fronts, including Lebanon. The issues of the nuclear file will be postponed to later talks. Washington wants to conclude an agreement that guarantees that Iran will not develop a nuclear weapon, while Tehran denies seeking to do so. Lifting sanctions, releasing frozen Iranian assets, and stopping Israeli attacks on Lebanon were among Iran’s basic demands. The source did not indicate what Tehran might offer in return.
