The head of the Royal Hashemite Court, Yousef Hassan Al-Issawi, this Thursday evening, sponsored a national celebration on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Kingdom’s independence and national holidays, which was held at the Sardiya clans’ farms in the Sabha region in the northeastern desert of Mafraq Governorate, at the invitation of Al-Ain’s Rakan Hamada Al-Fawaz.
The celebration was attended by the Governor of Mafraq, Firas Abu Qaoud, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Kingdom, His Highness Prince Mansour bin Khalid Al Saud, the Iraqi Ambassador Omar Al-Barzanji, and the Tunisian Ambassador Mufida Al-Zaribi, along with a number of notables, representatives, tribal sheikhs and notables, civil and military figures, and a large gathering of members of the local community.
The celebration was preceded by a national march accompanied by Public Security music and horses, which started from the Al-Tayyara roundabout in the Sobha area towards the celebration site, in a scene that reflected feelings of pride and pride in the homeland, its achievements, and its long journey since independence.
At the beginning of the celebration, Al-Ain Al-Fawaz stressed that independence constitutes the most prominent title in the Jordanian national narrative, the story of the land and the human being, which draws the features of the Jordanian national identity and highlights its historical, cultural and human depth, indicating that this narrative was linked to an established Hashemite process that led the Jordanian state project, and carried the message of construction, renaissance, and defense of the nation’s issues through various historical stages.
He added that this immortal national occasion calls for remembering the souls of the Jordanian martyrs who sacrificed their lives in defense of the holy sites, whose blood was mixed with the riches of Palestine, and who defended this Arab fever so that it remained an impenetrable fence and a fortified shield that protected its borders and preserved its dignity.
Al-Fawaz stressed that independence resulted in the building of national educational, economic, health, security and development institutions, and strengthened Jordan’s role in supporting Arab issues, most notably the Palestinian issue. He pointed out that the Hashemites, throughout their honorable history, carried the banner of defending the nation’s issues and its just rights, and the accompanying firm positions strengthened Jordan’s status and its national and humanitarian role.
He pointed out that Jordan remained and will remain a home with open doors to all brothers whose circumstances led them to knock on its doors, based on a consistent approach and authentic Arab and humanitarian values that formed part of its historical message.
The celebration included the showing of a film entitled “The March of the Kings and the Banners of the Desert,” which reviewed the achievements that have been achieved since the era of independence, and the role played by the Hashemite leadership in leading the process of building, achieving, and consolidating the process of the modern Jordanian state.
The celebration also included artistic and heritage performances presented by Al-Rajef Band to revive popular heritage, and poetry recitals by the poet Ghazi Hamad Al-Aoun, in addition to patriotic singing performances presented by the artist Saad Abu Tayeh, which embodied the meanings of belonging and pride in the homeland and its Hashemite leadership.
The celebration was a comprehensive national occasion that recalled bright moments in the history of the Jordanian state, and the achievements achieved during it that strengthened the Kingdom’s position and consolidated its development path, under the Hashemite leadership, which continued to carry the message of construction and giving since the dawn of independence.
