The Souss Massa region wants to move to a new stage in its employment support policy. Meeting on Monday at the Cité de l’Innovation in Agadir, a coordination meeting chaired by the wali of the region, Saaïd Amzazi, was devoted to updating regional mechanisms to support integration and job creation.
The objective is to develop existing systems to adapt them to the real needs of the regional labor market. The wali insisted on the need to direct programs towards sectors with high added value, in particular industry, agriculture, tourism and offshoring. He also called for mechanisms combining support for investment and job creation, supported by a monitoring system based on precise indicators. The diagnosis presented during the meeting highlights several weaknesses.
Between 2018 and 2025, more than 114,950 job seekers were registered in the region, with a high concentration in Agadir Ida-Outanane and Taroudant. The situation of young people neither in employment, nor in studies, nor in training remains particularly worrying, especially in peri-urban and rural areas. Among the avenues selected are the establishment of sectoral workshops to identify skills needs, the creation of an integrated regional program to support investment and employment, as well as the digitalization of procedures via a regional platform.
