One of the most serious episodes of this criminal group is the loss of a large amount of money in one of the prestigious, second-level banks that operate in Tirana.
Significant loss of money for which the two Pepa brothers accuse a notary, who according to them cooperated in the disappearance of their amount of 4 million euros. Prapaskena learns that the notary who made the 4 million euro ‘goal’ to Mir Pepa, known as the Casanova of Cocaine, is Rezarta Koçi, one of the most famous fraudsters of recent decades.
Notary Rezarta Koçi was arrested on February 4, 2022 for fraud with serious consequences, theft and abuse of office. According to the file, Koçi had defrauded several businessmen, extorting millions of euros, while many others are believed not to have filed a complaint. Notary Koçi was sentenced by the Court of Appeal to 12 years in prison, but due to the reduction of the sentence, she will eventually serve eight years in prison.
Mir Pepa also seems to have fallen into the net of notary Rezarta Koçi’s fraud, who also did not file a criminal complaint, apparently because the missing money came from the criminal activity of cocaine trafficking. Meanwhile, in November 2021, the car of the notary Rezarta Koçi was blown up with tritol. There are strong suspicions that the car bombing was ordered by one of her fraud victims.
In August 2020, during a conversation that Jetmir Pepa has with his brother Urim Pepa, they plan to take the administrators of the bank hostage, while accusing notary Rezarta Koçi of having collaborated in the disappearance of an amount of 4 million euros.
