Setif Province (Algeria), May 3, 2026 (SPS) – The coordination of the Algerian Civil Society Academy in Setif Province organized a day in solidarity with the Sahrawi people and their just cause.
This day, which was attended by member of the National Secretariat, Khatri Adoh, Ambassador to Algeria, accompanied by the official of the Front Office in Eastern Algeria, Othman El Hadj, was marked by the organization of a series of activities and visits to a number of municipalities in which there are Sahrawi students studying in Qur’anic schools in the state of Setif.
Among these stations is the Al-Bashir Al-Ibrahimi School, where the ambassador stopped with the local authorities, offering his thanks to the authorities supervising the school. On the occasion, students who excelled in memorizing the Holy Qur’an were honored with valuable prizes.
The ambassador also visited some historical monuments in the region, which symbolize the Algerian jihad and struggle against French colonialism, where he laid a wreath and recited Al-Fatihah as a tribute to the martyrs of the glorious November 1 Revolution.
The activities were concluded with a large ceremony in the celebration hall, in the presence of local authorities and representatives of parties, organizations and associations, in addition to Sahrawi university students in the universities of the state of Setif, as well as students and students of Qur’anic schools. This ceremony was distinguished by speeches that renewed Algeria’s positions in support of the Sahrawi people and their just struggle.
For his part, the coordinator of the Civil Society Academy in Eastern Algeria, Walid Asila, explained the coordination’s readiness to organize future activities in solidarity with the Sahrawi issue. For his part, the ambassador praised the firm Algerian position in addition to the struggle of the Sahrawi people to obtain their rights to freedom and independence, noting that the Sahrawi people benefited from the Algerian experience in various fields.
The Ambassador also congratulated Algerian civil society for its role in building and developing society, praising the progress and achievements achieved by Algeria, its people and government, in various fields, in addition to the status and reputation it enjoys regionally and internationally.
He also praised the success of Algerian diplomacy in winning the presidency of the African Parliament, stressing that this will give new impetus to the role and status of the African continent. Some awards and certificates of appreciation were also presented. (SPA)
