Intermediaries issued subsidies on behalf of farmers, and the farms themselves received homemade, low-quality equipment, a Kazinform agency correspondent reports.
According to the Department of Economic Investigations of the Zhambyl Region, over the past few years, courts have convicted individuals who illegally received subsidies on behalf of peasant farms. Subsidies were provided under the state program for the development of the agro-industrial complex “Purchase of agricultural machinery, machinery and equipment.”
The scheme, according to DER representatives, was based on the participation of intermediaries. They applied for subsidies on behalf of farms, after which the government money ended up with intermediaries. At the same time, the farmers themselves received homemade, low-quality equipment.
— To date, the number of peasant farms affected by the actions of fraudsters has been established, the number of which exceeds two hundred. All necessary investigative and operational measures are being carried out in this direction,” said Sherkhan Pirimkul.
The department also warned farmers against transferring electronic digital signatures to third parties. In the department note that digital signature can be used by fraudsters to receive subsidies without the knowledge of the owner.
