Prospecting: An in-depth exchange was opened between construction materials professionals and the equipment and water department.
A delegation from the Moroccan Federation of Construction Materials Industries discussed with the supervisory authority the development prospects of the sector and the regulatory and legal constraints it faces, as well as the means to overcome them to guarantee the competitiveness of the sector and the quality of its products. The discussions made it possible to examine the main challenges facing the sector, in particular the presence on the national market of materials of variable quality, in particular sands, and the need to strengthen compliance with the quality standards in force. Certain issues related to the quarrying sector, as well as construction materials sales depots, were also discussed.
Particular attention was paid to the cement and concrete sector, as a strategic pillar of the national economy. Several concrete proposals were presented to overcome the challenges encountered, in particular the establishment of an approval system for concrete plants and their submission to regular monitoring, in order to strengthen quality and safety standards.
