According to her, the inclusion of environmental provisions in the Constitution increases the responsibility of the state and citizens for the state of the environment.
“I think that enshrining ecology at the level of the Constitution says that at the level of state policy this area is given great importance, because the Constitution is the basis of the legislative hierarchy, and we are all obliged to fulfill and obey the rules that are prescribed in it,” noted Aiman Yesekina.
She emphasized that the constitutional consolidation of environmental standards also plays an important role in the formation of environmental consciousness of society.
“And it also provides the basis for instilling an environmental culture, the formation of environmental consciousness,” she said.
In her opinion, further implementation of constitutional norms can help improve the environmental situation in the country.
“The environmental norm enshrined in the Constitution should become not a formality, but a living guideline: it is thanks to it that Kazakhstan will be able to strengthen its environmental culture step by step, introduce modern technologies and raise the level of environmental protection several levels higher,” added the expert from the Center for Green Technologies.
Aiman Yesekina noted that strengthening the environmental block in the country’s legislative system could be an important step in the development of a sustainable and “green” economy of Kazakhstan.
