The dialogue table between the interim government and representatives of the National Assembly elected in 2015 announced the installation of the Council for the Review of Credentials and Requirements of Candidates to the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), the General Inspectorate of Courts and the National School of Judiciary.
The creation and implementation of this technical body was derived from the consensus reached during the second cycle of negotiations between the parties, establishing itself as an advisory body dedicated to auditing the profiles, credentials and merits of the candidates for the rooms and institutions of the justice system.
“We are moving towards re-institutionalization!” the National Assembly announced through their official channels to ratify the entry into operation of the evaluation mechanism.
The organization will participate in the application process opened by the Parliamentfocusing on strict verification of compliance with the legal requirements demanded by the Constitution and organic laws.
It has not detailed the work schedule, the evaluation methodology or the final list of the members who will make up the technical secretariat of the council.
The activation of the technical council is the result of the negotiated institutional agenda to raise the levels of transparency and impartiality in the renewal of the Judiciary.
The recommendations of the technical body will be incorporated into the pre-selection files presented to the Judicial Nominations Committee for the final election of the authorities of the judicial system.
