The Ministry of Education (MOE) is denying reports that More Tomorrow Primary School in the Cayo District is being shut down this week.
According to MOE, it is instead working with parents and the school community to address challenges at the institution.
News 5 reached out to Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of Education Dian Maheia for comment regarding reports received that the school was set to shut down. We did not receive a response.
However, the ministry issued a written statement this morning addressing the concerns.
“The Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology wishes to clarify that More Tomorrow Primary School, located in the Cayo District, is not being closed,” MOE said in the statement. “The Ministry is currently engaging with parents and members of the school community to address the challenges facing the school, including matters related to staffing.”
According to the ministry, those discussions are intended to identify solutions that will allow students in More Tomorrow to continue receiving their education.
