It was mentioned by Arlinda Zekajt’s lawyer, Haradinaj: Whoever mentions us without facts will face legal consequences

Daut Haradinaj from the Alliance has warned of legal consequences for anyone who mentions the last name Haradinaj without facts.
He also questioned the lawyer who represented the victim Arlinda Zekajt, asking why concerns about the alleged influence of the suspect were not raised and no institutional response was requested before the tragedy.
Haradinaj has also called on the Chamber of Advocates of Kosovo to react to such statements.
He demanded institutional accountability, dismissals and punishments, stressing that the state’s failure to protect women is a serious failure of justice and security institutions.
Haradinaj has denied that his family is a shield for anyone, adding that anyone who feels threatened because of possible connections with the Haradinaj family can contact them directly.

Yesterday’s serious event in Peja, where the life of a mother, Arlinda Zekajt, was cruelly taken, today at least needs political and parliamentary morality. There needs to be direct accountability, impeachment and punishment.
Anyone who joins hands with powerful people, invoking the presuppositions that they supposedly had strong arms and that no one could do anything to them, should understand that silence, tolerance and inaction in the face of such cases can make you complicit in a crime that could have been prevented.
As for the lawyer who represented Arlinda Zekajn, the question arises: Why were these concerns not raised and no institutional response was requested before this tragedy occurred? If there were claims that Doras enjoyed protection or influence due to his connections with the Haradinaj family, these claims should have been handled responsibly and through institutional channels, before such a tragedy occurred. Likewise, the Kosovo Bar Association must react to such statements and clarify any issue that falls within its professional responsibility.
Pictures, even with God, if you have them, do not justify this macabre crime. No one can use the surname Haradinaj to create the impression that someone is untouchable.
It is not the first time that we are faced with such attempts, dressing us with affairs like Pandora, property issues and accusations of banditry, which have actually turned out to be fabrications. My family and the surname Haradinaj are not a shield for anyone, except for what we have always defended: the freedom and institutions of Kosovo. We protect only these two.
The state’s failure to protect women who become victims of the catastrophic failure of justice and security institutions is crime upon crime.
Anyone who mentions our last name without any facts will face legal consequences. Also, anyone who thinks they can threaten someone by using this last name will face the same consequences. And finally, anyone who feels threatened because someone has any kind of connection with us, please contact us directly.
The armed war for us ended in 1999. Since that day, the only war we have is for the safety of every citizen of Kosovo, for its sovereignty and for its future.
