The Assistant Military Commander of the Islamic Alliance receives the Minister of Defense and National Service of the Republic of Maldives
The Assistant Military Commander of the Islamic Alliance and representatives of member states, Major General Pilot Abdullah bin Hamid Al Qurashi, received today, at the Alliance headquarters, His Excellency the Minister of Defense and National Service of the Republic of Maldives, Mr. Hassan Rasheed, and his accompanying delegation.
His Excellency reviewed the most prominent programs and initiatives of the coalition in its four fields: intellectual, media, military, and combating the financing of terrorism, and the specific programs it provides aimed at building capabilities and enhancing coordination and integration among member states, which contributes to raising their readiness to confront terrorism and extremism in accordance with international best practices.
The coalition also reviewed the initiatives it implemented in the Republic of Maldives, which included the “Peace Journalists” initiative in the media field, the “Prevention and Capacity Building of Imams and Preachers” initiative in the intellectual field, in addition to the “Efficiency and Cyber” initiative in the military field, and the tangible impact these initiatives have achieved in developing national capabilities and enhancing specialized competencies, which reflects the strength of the existing partnership and cooperation between the two sides, and confirms the coalition’s commitment to supporting member states through quality programs that contribute to building capabilities and enhancing readiness.
For his part, His Excellency the Minister of Defense and National Service of the Republic of Maldives, Mr. Hassan Rasheed, expressed his deep thanks and appreciation for the warm reception, praising the qualitative programs and initiatives implemented by the coalition that he saw, and the effective contribution they represent in building capabilities and enhancing international cooperation in confronting terrorism and extremism.
For his part, Major General Pilot Abdullah bin Hamid Al Qurashi stressed that the coalition continues to implement its strategic vision aimed at unifying efforts and enhancing integration among member states, through specialized initiatives in its four fields, which contributes to raising the efficiency of national capabilities and supporting security and stability at the regional and international levels.
This visit comes within the framework of the Islamic Military Coalition to Combat Terrorism’s keenness to strengthen its partnerships with member states and expand areas of cooperation in capacity-building programs, in a way that enhances the integration of joint efforts to confront security and terrorist challenges, and serves the goals of international peace and security.
