Sodins in the back of the plane
The company emphasizes that it has not previously charged a fee for seating children next to their parents or accompanying adults.
However, until now, an adult traveling with children had to purchase at least one reserved seat. In this case, seats for up to four children in the same order were assigned free of charge next to him.
The changes, which come into force today, mean that families will be able to choose not to choose or buy specific seats at all.
In this case, seats will be assigned to them free of charge after check-in for the flight.
However, Ryanair warns that such passengers are more likely to be seated at the back of the plane, as seats in the front rows tend to be booked earlier and sold out more quickly.
For the regular price, you can choose a seat
Those wishing to pre-select specific seats, including seats at the front of the plane or other preferred rows, will continue to be able to do so by paying the normal seat reservation fee.
According to Ryanair, the change brings the company’s family seating policy in line with the practice of most other European airlines.
The company also claims that the change will not affect its revenue and families will continue to be able to take advantage of the low price offers.
“European regulators want us to have the same family seating policy as most other airlines.
We are therefore reluctant to adapt to this market standard,” Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary was quoted as saying in the report.
Under the new arrangement, he said, families may have to wait until the end of check-in to find out their assigned seats, but children will still be able to sit next to accompanying adults.
