His Excellency President Nikos Christodoulides, President of the friendly Republic of Cyprus, received, at the Presidential Palace in the capital, Nicosia, Dr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transport and Communications and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad Global Center for Coexistence and Tolerance, on the occasion of his participation in the high-level international conference on coexistence and religious diversity, which the Center organizes in partnership with the Republic of Cyprus.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency the President of the Republic of Cyprus welcomed the Minister, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and was charged with conveying his greetings and appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the country, and to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and his wishes for the Kingdom of Bahrain and its friendly people further progress and prosperity.
For his part, Dr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa conveyed the greetings and appreciation of His Majesty the King of the country and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to His Excellency the President, and their wishes to the Republic of Cyprus and its friendly people for continued progress and prosperity.
During the meeting, the close friendship and cooperation relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Cyprus were reviewed, and ways to enhance them in various fields, especially in the areas of consolidating the values of coexistence and dialogue between religions and cultures, in light of the organization of the high-level international conference on coexistence and religious diversity, and the exchange of experiences and best practices in this field.
His Excellency the President of the Republic of Cyprus also praised the pioneering achievements made by the Kingdom of Bahrain in consolidating the values of openness, tolerance and coexistence, and the specific initiatives of the King Hamad Global Center for Coexistence and Tolerance in spreading the culture of peace and promoting religious and civilizational dialogue, mutual respect and understanding among peoples.
For his part, Dr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transport and Communications and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad Global Center for Coexistence and Tolerance, expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Excellency the Cypriot President for the warm reception, praising the two countries’ keenness to continue developing cooperation and close partnership, in a way that serves their common interests and enhances their efforts aimed at consolidating the values of coexistence and tolerance, and supporting security, stability and peace at the regional and international levels.
