His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the country, received yesterday Marco Rubio, Secretary of State of the United States of America, who is visiting the Kingdom of Bahrain.
His Majesty the King welcomed the US Secretary of State and his accompanying delegation on their visit to the Kingdom, while the US Secretary of State expressed his happiness at visiting Bahrain and meeting with His Majesty. During the reception, aspects of bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and ways to strengthen and develop them in various fields were reviewed, and the importance of continuing to strengthen frameworks of cooperation, fruitful coordination and joint work at the economic and defense levels in particular was emphasized. The latest developments in the regional and international situation were also discussed, and views were exchanged on them and the efforts being made towards them to achieve security and stability. The importance of adhering to the memorandum of understanding signed between the United States of America and Iran and the wise approach it embodies that prevails over the language of dialogue and diplomacy as a way to address issues of the region and international peace and security was stressed.
