Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met yesterday with Marco Rubio, Secretary of State of the friendly United States of America, on the occasion of his visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain to participate in the joint ministerial meeting between the Gulf Cooperation Council and the United States of America.
During the meeting, they discussed the path of historical friendship and strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the friendly United States of America, and joint efforts to enhance the prospects for bilateral cooperation in various fields of common interest, within the framework of the agreements concluded between the two countries, including the Comprehensive Agreement on Security Integration and Prosperity (C–SIPA), in a way that meets the common aspirations and interests of the two friendly countries and peoples. !
They also discussed the latest developments in the regional situation, and the efforts aimed at establishing the foundations of peace and stability in the region, in light of the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran, and the start of negotiations between them to reach a comprehensive agreement on all outstanding issues, and the exchange of views on regional issues of common interest and their repercussions on the security and stability of the region.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador Sheikh Abdullah bin Ali Al Khalifa, Director General of Bilateral Relations, Ambassador Saeed Abdul Khaleq Saeed, Head of the Coordination and Follow-up Sector, and Salman Hassan Al Jalahma, Head of the Americas Affairs Sector.
