
The Algiers state authorities announced that special organizational measures were being taken on the occasion of organizing the third edition of the urban running race in Algiers, “Live the Capital,” today, Friday, with the participation of about 10,000 competitors.
According to a statement by the state departments, a number of main roads and streets in the center of the capital will be closed temporarily and gradually, starting at (18:15), coinciding with the start of the race at (18:30) from Marina Al-Sablat Park.

On their route, the runners pass through the National Liberation Army Avenue and Zigot Youssef Avenue, reaching Martyrs’ Square, then the Upper Kasbah, Karim Belkacem Avenue, and Franklin Roosevelt Avenue, before heading towards the Ahmed Ghermoul Complex, arriving at May Day Square.
The state authorities confirmed that the closure process will be time-limited according to the progress of the contestants, with the concerned axes gradually reopening immediately after the last participant passes, in coordination with the security services charged with organizing traffic and securing the demonstration.
The state of Algiers called on citizens and road users to understand these regulatory procedures and avoid using the relevant axes during the race period as much as possible, while relying on the available alternative routes, to ensure the good conduct of this sporting event.
