The Fire Service was alerted after an event of fire in the province of Limassol, which appears to have been caused by a vehicle engulfed in flames. After several hours, the fire that broke out between the communities of Malia and Dora was brought under control.
The press representative of the Fire Service, Andreas Kettis, said that the fire burned a total area of about 1.5 hectares of dry grass, wild vegetation and a number of trees.
The initial information stated that a vehicle was engulfed in flames on a road between the communities of Dora and Trozenas, resulting in or fire to extend to dry grasses and wild vegetation. Strong forces of the Fire Service rushed to the scene from the first moment.

For his part, the press representative of the Fire Service, Andreas Kettis, reported that there was a response at 19:21 for a fire which occurred between the communities of Malia – Doras Limassol District in dry grasses and wild vegetation.
They responded with a total of 6 fire engines from Limassol District and the ground forces are reinforced by Forest Department, land promoters, Civil Defense and Organized Volunteer units.
The fire is ongoing. It was caused and spread by a motor vehicle on fire. The circumstances under which the fire broke out in the vehicle will be clarified.
To coordinate the fire, the Chief Fire Officer and the Director of Operations are at the PY Crisis Management Center at the Headquarters.
